Flowers and Friends

One day some of us girls had fun taking pictures where there were some beautiful roses.

My dear cousin Candace.

Candace is still my friend even when I mess up the picture!

I loved this birdhouse near where we took our pictures.

Making apple pie filling.

We girls during a weekend at Uncle Elon's place.

Friends forever. I am so thankful for the friends I have among my cousins.

Helping at Aunt Joella's

I stayed at Aunt Joella's house for a couple days to help. A highlight for me was listening to her family practice their handbells.

I also enjoyed listening to them practice their strings.

Some pictures of little Laura. She was so cute and loved to help.

Three families got together for a service at the nursing home where prayer warrior Anita Brechbill is now. Here they all were singing, "Jesus Gives me a Song." I sang another song with them.

Uncle Fain's family played lovely chime arrangements.

Pearl and Laura afterwards. I enjoyed being a small part of my uncles' nursing home ministry.

Hike in the Woods

On a Sunday afternoon, several families went on a hike through the autumn woods. This little boy was so cute, almost going to sleep on Natasha's shoulder.

The view from on top.

Best buddies.

I enjoyed the sunlight on the fall colors.

This little guy enjoys the leaves too!

Pennsylvania Puppies and Hairdos

One cockapoo from a litter of four. They are so cuddly!

This golden doodle puppy found a warm place to sleep after getting a bath.

These puppies had to be bottle fed for a while.

I tried to get a nice picture of these dogs, but they didn't cooperate very well. Here are a couple attempts.

Even if I didn't get very good pictures, I got a lot of laughs from their expressions!

This is the best picture.

One evening my cousins did our hair in crown braids.

I have enjoyed being with my cousins so much. They are kind and hard working, and they are fun. I am very thankful for their friendship.

I Believe

Sometimes you just have to believe in God-- because if you didn't, you would have nothing.

When your life seems upside down, and your hopes and dreams are crumbling around your feet, and when everything that seemed safe and secure is being torn from under you,

why throw away the one thing that will stay the same?

God is our Rock. When everything else fails, He is still there.

Below are the words of a song called "I Believe", which I heard a men's choir sing last night. I hope the words bless you as much as they blessed me.

I believe for every drop of rain that falls,

A flower grows.

I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows.

I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come to show the way.
I believe, I believe.

I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard.
I believe that Someone in the great Somewhere hears every word.

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,

or touch a leaf,

or see the sky,

Then I know why

I believe.

Making a green house

My first Saturday back east, the men from the church here set up a green house. Near lunch time, they called us ladies at Uncle Fain's to go help hold down the plastic. We got there just in time to see them getting ready to put the plastic over the frame.

We helped guide the plastic over.

This is what we were doing most of the time--holding the plastic down so the wind wouldn't blow it away.

Battening down the plastic.

My aunt and me.

Finishing up.

I enjoyed these flowers that were growing on the property.
