Birds and Blooms

There is a magazine called Birds and Blooms, and I thought it an appropriate title for this post. I think you'll know why when you are done looking at it!
During Carrie's violin lesson, I enjoyed taking pictures of these blossoms
and of this woodpecker that showed up! We hardly ever see woodpeckers, so I was delighted!

More birds in the top of the same tree the woodpecker was in.
We are enjoying these chicks!
There are a lot of this kind of tree in town.
This was at a place where we went to get a flat tire replaced.
I love the birds around here. This is a bluebird.
The meadowlark song is one of my favorite bird songs. We hear them a lot around here, but can't always see them. I was really happy to get this shot.
In the middle of this picture is a horned lark. It was right on the trail a little ways in front of me.
Some daffodil pictures. The second one is at the church, but the rest are ours.

Odds n' Ends

Here are just a bunch of pictures from the last few weeks . I have not been taking very many pictures of people, mostly animals and flowers. Below are some of Timmy's baby rabbits. They are much bigger now than when the picture was taken.

The little ones found a salamander.
Guess who?
Beautiful.
Tree branch against the sky.
This rooster feels on top of the world! I caught him in the middle of a crow.
If you really want to be on top of the world, jump onto the bird feeder from the trampoline like the other rooster did!
I didn't get up early enough one morning to see this lunar eclipse, but my sister did. She took this picture.
Hannah helps on a Saturday.
On Easter Sunday, we went to the Paint Mines for a walk.
We were surprised to see wildflowers already! They usually don't bloom this early in the year.
Formations
On the side of the little canyon above were more of these (we call them butter n' eggs).
The view from  a point on the trail.
These formations are more colorful.
A cluster of "bluebells".
More formations. This is an amazing place.
Horses grazing in a pasture nearby.
Along our little trail that we like to walk along, some flowers are starting to grow.

We think these are called "Pascal's flowers".
If you like creepy crawly things, you might like this picture. It is a big anthill crawling with red ants!
A close-up of some of the critters.
We are enjoying spring around here!

January wedding

January 30th was the first wedding of a Morley cousin, Joseph, to Mariah Mull. I didn't get very many good pictures, but here are the best ones. This wreath was on one side of the platform, and one with a "J" was on the other side.
Lighting the candelabra
The giving away of the bride by her adopted father. He told how she had come to their home and how they had endeavored to teach her, "not only by words, but by example." Now they were entrusting her to Joseph.
The wedding vows.
Lighting of the unity candle.
As I said, I didn't get many good pictures, so that's all I have about the ceremony. I liked the theme and the decorations.
The bride's extended family
Immediate family of the bride
The groom's extended family. I'm sure you won't be able to recognize anyone in this picture! Ha ha.
Joseph's immediate family

Heading over to the reception hall, which was on the same property as the church. My sister Carrie and cousin Natasha have Aunt Kezia's sweet little Lydia between them.
One of the decorations just outside the door.
Behind the table of the bridal party was this wreath with a "J" for Joseph, and on the other side, one with an "M" for Mariah.
The cake table.
The fountain beneath the cake stand.
These candles were so pretty.
Cutting the cake
After the festivities were over, it was time to say goodbye.
While waiting to see the bride and groom off, we admired the handiwork of Joseph's best friend (and a couple cousins) on Joseph's truck.
Joseph and his friend have some joke between them about Beanie and Socks, so this is what his friend wrote on the tailgate, with Joseph's cell number! I guess Joseph did get a few calls!
It was a lovely wedding, and it was good to connect with relatives again.
